Hidden Mickey Monday!

Today's hidden Mickey can be found in Toontown just outside the exit from Mickey's House. When you look at the lamp straight on you can't see the Mickeys, but from the corner, the circles make a Mickey! Happy Hunting!

Hidden Mickey Monday!

Hidden Mickey and a story!

This hidden Mickey can be found in the ?? shop in Critter Country. This Mickey is featured in the "Finding Mickey" guidebook. The day I went in to photograph this particular Mickey, the cast member behind the counter suddenly got the biggest smile on her face and came over to us. She asked us if we knew the story behind this Mickey. She told us that one day while she was working there, a man came in and asked her to take a picture of him with the cabbage Mickey in the background. He explained to her that many years ago while he was working in the store as a cast member, he had come up with the idea while decorating the upper shelves of the store. He had actually glued together the cabbages to make the Mickey, and since then it had been recognized in the Mickey handbook! Ever since, the Mickey has remained. I absolutely loved the story of this Mickey, and the current cast member's enthusiasm to share it with a fellow Hidden Mickey fan. That's one of the great things about Disney. And now I am even more inspired to someday hide a Mickey in the park myself! If I ever get to become a cast member, maybe I can leave my mark on the park!

Hidden Mickey Monday!

This Hidden Mickey can be found in the Indiana Jones queue. In October I posted a decoder guide for the ancient script along the walls of the queue. This is the MM (for Mickey Mouse) that can be found on a pillar in the corridor.

Unusual Views of the Castle

Christmastime is now over, and it's always sad to see all the cheery decorations come down.
But there is also something refreshing to see the park cleaned up and back to normal. And even though Holiday Haunted Mansion is my favorite attraction, I always end up missing the grinning ghosts before the season is over. And as beautiful as the castle is for Christmas, with the icicle lights, and garlands, I do miss the original look.
Now that the castle is back to normal, I thought I would share some unusual shots of the castle from around the park. The castle never gets boring, there is always a new way to look at it!

Michael & Whitney's Disneyland Engagement!

My family and I just got back from a post-Christmas pre-New Year's trip to Disneyland. My aunt and uncle even joined us this time, and we all had a blast! One of the highlights of the trip, was when my cousin Michael, proposed to his girlfriend, Whitney, at exactly midnight on their 3 year anniversary on Main Street in Disneyland! There was quite a large crowd that gathered and cheered and really made the moment special for them. He surprised her, while I set up to "take a few pictures with the lights", and we had to smuggle the ring in the park without her noticing it all day. It was a grand scheme, and it played out beautifully. I am so happy for them!
