Hidden Mickey Monday!

These bubble Mickeys can be found on stage of the new show, Mickey and the Magical Map, performed at the Fantasyland theater. During the Under the Sea sequence the stage splits to reveal them in the background. I highly recommend seeing the show, there are some great songs and characters not often found in the Disneyland parks.

Hidden Mickey Monday!

Today's Mickey can be found in the carpets of the Disneyland Hotel. There are many carpet patterns and almost all of them feature a Mickey somewhere.

Limited Time Magic: Unleash the Villains!

This month, Disneyland hosted a special Friday the 13th event welcoming the Halloween season into the parks. There were a lot of special events, limited time treats, and guest villains throughout the park. Ryan and I Disneybounded as Vanessa and a hypnotized Prince Eric. One of the special dance clubs going on was at the New Orleans Square train station. There was a dance floor placed on the tracks, and quite a few rare villains came out to party including Hades, Dr. Facilier, Maleficent, and Judge Frollo. The park stayed open until the 13th hour. It was super crowded and super fun!

Disney's Kitty Colony

You may not know that Disneyland is home to quite a lot of furry felines. It is rare to get a glimpse of them in the park during operational hours as they are not fond of crowds or all the people trying to pet them. Usually they come out when it is dark, and can be seen in bushes or just beyond fences. However, this little guy got brave and ventured out into the Plaza Inn courtyard looking for leftovers. The park was about to close, so it was pretty empty. We saw him just long enough to snap a couple pictures then off he went. Disney welcomes the cats, as they keep the park free from rodents, except Mickey of course.

Disney Secrets: Peter Pan Blocks

Did you know that in the nursery of the Peter Pan ride, the blocks scattered on the floor spell out "Peter Pan"? You can glimpse them for a second as soon as you take the sharp left out the nursery window. (Occasionally the blocks will be rearranged)

Hidden Mickey Monday!

This Mickey can be found in the Storyteller's Cafe restaurant in the Grand Californian Hotel. It can only be seen behind the check-in desk near the door. If you stop by, be sure to have some breakfast there, it's amazing!

Disneyland Dapper Day

September 6th was Dapper Day at Disneyland. Dapper Day is when everyone dresses up to go to the park. Most outfits are inspired by the time when Disneyland opened. This year there was also a Disneybound theme to dress up based on inspiration from a Disney character. Ryan and I went as Carl and Ellie from Up. It was really hot and we were resting on a bench in California Adventure, and the cutest old Cast Member walked by and told us how much he loved the atmosphere on Dapper Day and that we looked very nice. He was very sweet. We were also surprised at how many people were actually dressed up, it almost seemed like every other group was participating.

Hidden Mickey Monday!

Today I have a very special Mickey to share with you all. You never know just where it might pop up! But, pay attention to the custodial workers in the park, you never know when you might catch them dancing to the music down Main Street, photo-bombing your pictures, or painting characters on the ground with a bucket and a broom. Happy hunting!

Limited Time Magic: Oswald Sundae

This week only, head over to Clarabelle's Ice Cream shop at the end of Buena Vista Street in DCA, to try your own Oswald inspired ice cream sundae. It's been incredibly hot in SoCal this past week so this treat was just in time. It comes with vanilla and chocolate ice cream, fudge, ship cream and chocolate chips, chocolate covered frozen bananas for the ears, a waffle bowl, keepsake trolley cup, and of course a cherry to top it off. Very fitting, considering Oswald's first appearance was in a cartoon called, Trolley Troubles!

Hidden Mickey Monday!

These tiny Mickeys were found aboard the Disney Dream. In our bedroom, attached to the headboards were two lamps featuring a map pattern on the shade, and these mini Mickeys circling the bottom. There were a ton of Mickeys in our room alone and I had so much fun finding them all!
